Open Arms came to me as an idea while working for a multinational IT Company in Nairobi. I felt very blessed at the time having a good job at such a young age. But that wasn’t enough, I never had enough joy knowing I had something to eat while someone else had none. I have also been a giver!
If you’ve grown up in Kenya or Africa, you can tell that lacking a meal or shelter isn’t as a result of laziness but Africa is a place where people scramble for the limited opportunities. Some of these children that are homeless, have a bright future and I saw the need to help them achieve this dreams. I therefore reached out to a few friends and Open Arms was born.
Initially it was just an Initiative for supporting the needy and vulnerable communities, then in 2020, we changed the name to Open Arms Evangelism, we saw the need not only to help the needy but also to share the love of Jesus Christ. Having been again at the age of 12 years , I knew that being born again was the best gift you can give any child. So as we share what we have, we share the love of the one that gave us.
